While home sales are slowing across much of the country, West Palm Beach is telling a very different story.
According to new data from Redfin, West Palm Beach home sales jumped 17.1% in July compared with the same time last year, making it one of the strongest-performing housing markets in the country.
The increase is especially noteworthy considering what’s happening nationally.
U.S. home sales declined 4.1% from June to July, falling to their lowest level in nearly two years. Pending sales also dropped as high home prices, mortgage rates and overall housing costs continue to keep many prospective buyers on the sidelines.
What’s Driving West Palm Beach?
Redfin points to affluent buyers who are less sensitive to higher housing costs as an important factor driving sales in the West Palm Beach market.
That’s not surprising given the transformation taking place throughout the area.
West Palm Beach continues to attract new residents, businesses, investors and significant development.
Downtown has experienced tremendous growth, with new luxury residences, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and major commercial investment reshaping the city.
The area’s appeal extends well beyond downtown.
Buyers continue to be drawn to West Palm Beach for its proximity to Palm Beach, waterfront lifestyle, year-round warm weather, cultural attractions and access to some of South Florida’s most desirable communities.
National Headlines Don’t Tell the West Palm Beach Story
The latest numbers are an important reminder that real estate is local.
A national housing slowdown doesn’t automatically mean the West Palm Beach market is slowing.
With home sales up 17.1% year-over-year, West Palm Beach is demonstrating continued buyer demand at a time when many markets across the country are experiencing declining sales.
For homeowners considering selling, this makes understanding activity within their individual neighborhood and price range especially important.
For buyers, it reinforces the importance of knowing where demand remains strong and being prepared when the right property becomes available.
West Palm Beach Continues to Make Its Mark
West Palm Beach has changed dra!matically over the past several years, and the latest housing numbers provide another indication of the demand surrounding the city.
As we move through the second half of 2026, West Palm Beach remains a South Florida real estate market worth watching.
